Michigan Abolitionist Project Program Coordinator – West Michigan – 


DISHER is currently partnering with a local nonprofit, Michigan Abolitionist Project (MAP), to fill their West Michigan Program Coordinator position. MAP is growing the movement of organizations and people to prevent and end human trafficking in Michigan and beyond. In this role, you will develop programs and initiatives in West Michigan including provides oversight, coordination, and ensuring effective promotion of the non-profit’s work. 

*This is a part-time 10-15 hour/ week role with a flexible work environment including virtual/remote work with occasional travel within West and Southwest Michigan
 

What you’ll get to do:

  • Work with the Director to develop program strategies, project plans, and training to local communities in West Michigan
  • Develop effective ways to communicate with and engage volunteers by building positive relationships and a strong network
  • Coordinate with other staff to support, empower and develop necessary resources for volunteer leaders
  • Content creation and maintenance of organizations social media accounts and email communications 
  • Utilize marketing tactics to grow followers and volunteer network


What will make you successful

  • Passion for preventing and ending human trafficking
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration or similar degree
  • Ability to work virtually in a flexible environment with minimum supervision
  • Self-starter and motivator of people 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as strong, written and verbal, communication skills 
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, email marketing, social media networks and expertise utilizing various cloud-based tools
  • Ability to work professionally with a diverse constituent base
  • Must have the current and continuing right to work in the United States of America without sponsorship
